As I am a product of and now have friends that are teachers for the LAUSD. I would say the need to stick to the basics of reading writing and arithmetic. Back when I was attending school my Geometry teacher explained the myth of Global warming the Monday following a 60 minutes report on it. Simply put the rotating around the sun is not perfect sometime we are farther away (ice age) sometimes we are closer (global warming) and that’s how it works.
I am sure some tree hugger will say we still impact the situation and that is true. However, without the imbalance in our planets orbit we would all be frozen. So we are addressing “Global Warming” with in the LAUSD. Unfortunately with the lack of parent involvement and to much involvement from political groups, LAUSD and America have lost there edge. Now we just turn out a bunch of little whining kids that can not read, write or do arithmetic and think they are owed something.

I’m 15 and I watched Al Gore’s movie in school. I think that everyone should be aware of this problem. We should stop it as soon as we can and we need a lot of help. Their are many serious problems that are still not getting better (anorexia, bulemia, obesity, and more). Everyone can do something to help and we should help now before it’s too late. Do research on global warming and how to prevent it and get more people involved.
